In this project, I designed and configured a complete network topology to interconnect the headquarters and branch office of a small company. I began by subnetting the assigned network address 192.168.0.100/26 into seven equal subnets, carefully calculating address ranges for management VLANs, employee VLANs, and inter-router links. I then created a new Packet Tracer Activity (PKA) file, selected appropriate routers, switches, and end devices, and physically interconnected them with serial links for WAN connectivity and trunk links between switches and routers.
I configured all devices with hostnames, passwords for console, enable, and SSH access, and enabled SSH for secure management. I set up three VLANs per switch, assigned ports accordingly, and configured Switch Virtual Interfaces (SVIs) with IP addresses from the management subnet. I also set default gateways for proper inter-site communication. On the routers, I configured sub-interfaces for Inter-VLAN routing, assigned IP addresses to interfaces, and implemented static routing to ensure full connectivity between the headquarters and branch PCs.
After completing the IP configuration, VLAN setup, and routing, I verified network functionality by pinging across all devices and establishing SSH connections from Admin PCs to all network devices. The final topology ensured secure, segmented, and efficient communication between both sites, demonstrating my skills in network design, device configuration, VLAN management, and static routing in a real-world business scenario.
